ADMINISTRATION

A company administration provides protection for a company whilst a rescue strategy is considered by the appointed administrator.

COMPULSORY LIQUIDATION

A compulsory liquidation is where a company enters into liquidation upon presentation of a winding up petition in Court, usually by a creditor.

COMPANY VOLUNTARY ARRANGEMENT (CVA)

A CVA is a procedure which allows a company in financial difficulty to agree a repayment proposal with its creditors.

CREDITORS’ VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION (CVL)

A CVL is the liquidation of an insolvent company initiated by its directors.

MEMBERS VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION (MVL)

An MVL is a process for closing down a solvent company and distributing surplus funds back  to its shareholders.

IVA

An IVA is a legally binding agreement between an individual and their creditors enabling them to repay their debts over an agreed set period.

BANKRUPTCY

Bankruptcy is a Court based procedure where an individual is unable to pay off their existing debts in a reasonable time.
